Initially tasked with gathering statistics on birth and death rates across East Lancashire during the extended Regency period (1795 to 1837) to better understand mortality rates during the years around the 1826 Weavers’ Uprising, they also discovered dozens of marginal notes in the parish registers. This talk focuses on a selection of those extra details that helped to liven up the work, featuring examples that tell us more about the lives of ordinary people, from multiple births, unusual and exotic baby names, parental occupations and illegitimacy, to fatal accidents and people who travelled far beyond Lancashire.Https://www.Weavers-uprising.Org.UK/
