On 11 September 2001, the world came to a halt after terrorists attacked the United States.
As flights were grounded across the world, 38 planes ended up at a small airport in Gander, Newfoundland as part of Canadas Operation Yellow Ribbon.
The passengers and crew were embraced by this tiny community, finding kindness and humanity in the midst of tragedy and chaos.
The story of the week displaced passengers spent on this island was later immortalised in a documentary, You Are Here: A Come From Away Story, as well as the hit Broadway and West End musical Come From Away.On the 25th anniversary of the attacks, Craig Fisher, a local resident who was one of the 6,600 people diverted to Gander on that day, joins us at the Rep to share his story.
