The Alum Ridge Boys & Ashlee and Support

The Alum Ridge Boys & Ashlee make their UK debut with a stirring celebration of Appalachian string band music.

Hailing from Floyd, Virginia, the five-piece draws on the shared roots of bluegrass, old-time and early country music, recreating the sound of an era when these traditions stood side by side.Audiences can expect driving banjo, fiddle, guitar and bass, gathered around a single microphone in the classic style, with rich harmonies and heartfelt performances taking centre stage.

Their music favours authenticity over polish, delivering timeless songs and instrumental tunes with warmth, spirit and an infectious sense of community.Praised for their hard-edged, traditional approach and deep connection to the roots of American acoustic music, this special debut appearance offers a rare chance to experience one of Virginia’s finest emerging string bands as part of the festival’s programme.
