Written in 1959 as a commission from the Koussevitsky Foundation, Poulencs Gloria has become a favourite Gloria setting with choirs worldwide.
Its combination of serious subject and light-hearted music was initially criticized by early listeners but is now part of its charm and appeal.
It will be performed here with organ accompaniment, rather than the original orchestra.
Brittens Te Deum and Jubilate in C will sit alongside the Poulenc.
Despite their key and liturgical relationship these were actually written 25 years apart the Jubilate was written in 1961 for St Georges Chapel, Windsor, at the request of the Duke of Edinburgh, and the Te Deum was commissioned by the BBC in 1934.
