Etching

Learn about the traditional technique of Etching in this six-week course, using metal plates and acid to etch your own designs.

Youll then print from the plates using a large Rochat etching press.This course is ideal for those who have some printing experience but also for budding artists who would like to have a go.

All are welcome, just prepare to get creative and inky in our stunning workshop.Youre encouraged to attend all three terms; Monotype, Drypoint and Collograph; Relief Printmaking and Etching as you develop your individual ideas, however this is not necessary.Come with sketches, doodles, photos or text which inspire you.

Some materials will be included in the course fee and more will be available to buy at cost price.The next course takes place:Monday 20 April 2026 for eight weeks, Mondays 6pm 8:30pm.

Youll receive six weeks of teaching and two weeks off for bank holidays.
