Join us for an immersive workshop with Amelia Tan, an artist and the producer of Portrait of Dorothy Gale.
The session will start with a series of guided, sensory exercises designed to help participants slow down and retune their senses and attention. Through these practices, we can begin to explore ways of experiencing images and our surroundings.
We will then move together on a silent walk, wearing earplugs and travelling in single file. Together we will pause, share stillness and reflect on our own journey in a personal and creative way.
In the second part of the workshop, you will use your phone or digital camera to gather short video snippets inspired by what you noticed and experienced earlier. These fragments will be shared and brought together as a group to form a collaborative piece exploring how memory, place, and perspective can be shaped into meaning.
Amelia Tan is an interdisciplinary artist based in London. Her practice is rooted in the coincidental, choreographic and theatrical potential of public experience. From seeking alternative ways of perceiving the passing of time, to reclaiming agency in public space through performative intervention, she interrogates the invisible yet dominant structures that uphold the modern world.
