Excommunicated: An Evening of Confessions by Ungovernable Women

Two Immigrant Women, Zero Filters, One Incredible Night of LaughsEXCOMMUNICATED: An Evening of Confessions by Ungovernable Women is the Riot Grrrl Lovechild of two international feminist comedians. London based queer Portuguese multidisciplinary artist Mariana Feijó, Soho Theatre Labs and UCB, NY alum, whose work has been described as ‘generous, inventive and funny’; and Ally O, an American writer and performer in exile in Germany. Fresh off an Edinburgh Fringe run, Ally’s performance has been called, ‘razor sharp,’ and, ‘a masterclass in comedy and storytelling.’Together, they’re smashing the patriarchy in pretty dresses and carving out a much needed space for women and marginalised genders in comedy through their international partnership.
EXCOMMUNICATED is a double bill of both artists’ solo work. With overlapping themes of immigration, identity and female rage, each performer brings their unique perspective to this evening of brand new comedy.UNMARRIGABLE by Ally O: a solo rom com about immigration, culture clash, generational trauma (but make it fun!) Waking the dead (but make that fun too!), surviving wedding receptions when you're single, and the love of a good pair of Spanx. Also, O marries herself live onstage.
PEACE BE WITH YOU by Mariana Feijó: Queer. Feminist. Hedonistic. As a true Saggitarius, Mariana is wrestling between going down enjoying all of London’s sex parties, or a last ditch attempt to save the world from being engulfed by fascism. Can they do both? A horny confessional stand up show, with hints of history class.
