Mike Bowler Art Exhibition

Mike Bowler is a local painter, living in Fairlight with Trish, his wife.

Mike started painting fifteen years ago and some years after retiring, when, as he said, his grandchildren's paintings were far better than his.

He studied, and continues to study with local artist, Mike Funnell, whose skill and patience has "helped Mike to get where he is today".Mike works in a style that he describes as somewhere between realism and surrealism.

He works in acrylic paint, using palette knives on large format boards."Just as an author uses words to create an image in our minds, so does an artist use paint to create a scaffolding, on which to hang our imaginations".
