Pavel Kolesnikov is hailed by The Guardian as an ‘outstanding pianist in every degree’ and for the ‘great emotional intelligence with understated virtuosity’ of his playing.

He returns to Cheltenham Music Festival with a very special programme.

Chopin’s 21 Nocturnes are perhaps the greatest short-form ‘poems for piano’.

Written between 1827 and 1846 and inspired by the piano nocturnes of the Irish composer-pianist John Field, Chopin used this understated genre as a medium for spectacularly vivid imagery that has transfixed pianists and audiences ever since.
