Tickets 10 / Under 18s 2
Please note - anyone under 18 years old must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.Sometimes the perfect headline act is right on your doorstep, so to honour Blein ny Gaelgey (Year of the Manx Language 2026) and see Mananan 50 out in style, the mighty Biskee Brisht and friends will perform their excellent second album Treading Water / Brebbal Ushtey, in Manx.Four years in the making, Treading Water / Brebbal Ushtey is a world first - the first dual language English and Manx Gaelic album. Recorded, mixed and mastered by Gyp Buggane at Ballagroove Studios, it is a cinematic and deeply personal exploration of adulthood, mental health and the vibrant resilience of the Manx language.Biskee Brisht is an indie-folk-pop Manx band taking influences from the island around them and creating something new and exciting, with infectious melodies and heartfelt love songs. They have just released their second album Treading Water / Brebbal Ushtey (2026) which follows on from their debut Stand in the Sea (2020).Biskee Brisht was put together by Ruby Biscoe-Taylor, pulling together friends and family to make memorable folk pop music with a sense of connection and place. "Biskee brisht" is Manx Gaelic for "broken biscuit" and the songs, whether in English or Manx Gaelic, are proudly unrelentingly catchy. The line up consists of Ruby on lead vocals and ukulele, John Kaighin on accordion, Django Kinley on trumpet, Matt Brewster on bass/violin, Joff Whitten on electric guitar, Matt Parkes on drums, and frequent guest appearances by friends. Two-time winners of the Arrane Son Mannin competition, which finds a song to represent the Isle of Man at the Pan-Celtic International Song Contest (nicknamed the Celtic Eurovision), Biskee Brisht have proudly flown the flag for the Isle of Man in Carlow and Letterkenny, Ireland. This is a standing-only (dancing encouraged!) gig in the auditorium. Please note - tickets are available to our Members from Saturday 11th April 2026 with a password, and will be available to the general public from Friday 17th April 2026 (without a password).
