Introduction To Screen Printing

This 2-day introduction will take you step by step through screen-printing on paper. We will cover:Making screen stencils using Paper, photo emulsion and UV light.
Use of photographic and autographic (hand drawn) images in screenprinting
Printing techniques
Ink and colour mixing
Choosing the right paper
Printing multiple colours with good registration of layers
Using a screen printing bench press
Cleaning up and care for screens and equipmentThis workshop is run by Sarah Keast who is a printmaker and mixed media artist based in Dumfries and Galloway. She has been using screen printing in her creative practice for 18 years. By the end of the course students will have a small edition of prints in 2-3 colours. The course content will be supported with a handout. All printing materials are provided. Tea and coffee are provided. Participants can buy their lunch on Saturday at the caf. On Sunday bring your own lunch as our cafe is closed on Sundays
