As part of this year’s Summer Reading Challenge theme, ‘Read to the Beat’, join us at Blairgowrie Library for an exciting musical crafts session for children aged 5 to 10 years, where we will use rubber bands and other materials to make instruments that we can shake, buzz, and toot!Summer Reading Challenge 2026
The 2026 Summer Reading Challenge, “Read to the Beat!”, is a free programme for children aged 4–11. It invites children to read six books during the summer holidays, with a fun theme around music, sound, and stories. Families can sign up at any Culture Perth & Kinross library. Children will receive a challenge pack, collect stickers as they go, and earn a certificate and medal when they finish.The challenge supports children to keep reading over the summer and feel confident and ready for the new school year.
