presented by VandL ProductionsVandL Productions present a new adaptation Charles Dickens' classic novel Great Expectations.Here we meet Pip, a pilot in the Second World War, finding himself back at the crumbling Satis House. At a place of deep love and tragedy for him, begins a journey through his memories.As Pip takes us through his childhood in the marsh country and early adulthood in London, he is unsparing, recognising the mistakes of his past and charting his redemption through love and suffering. Revealing the scars inflicted in early life, he finds an understanding as to why he behaves as he does.This new adaptation centres on the key relationships in his life - the kindly and dignified Joe and Biddy, the damaged and proud Estella, the rough but caring Magwitch and the tragic Miss Havisham - all themselves also victims of their past.Great Expectations is a story of how relationships form and define us for good and for ill and of the expectations we have of life, ourselves and each other and ultimately how blind those ambitions can make us.Tuesday 3 - Saturday 14 November 2026 at 7.30pm
