Founded over 2,000 years ago, it is not surprising that the town entertains its fair share of ghosts, ghoulies and things that go bump in the night!Thetford dates back to Saxon times and, beneath the town on the north side of the river, there lies a network of tunnels. There is most definitely a darker side to Thetford, with tales of murder, mystery, ghosts and legends.Feeling brave? Then walk with our costumed guide through the darkened streets and alleyways, and you never know who, or perhaps what, you may encounter! The Ghost Walk offers an evening walking tour of Thetford's haunted locations and lasts approximately 90 minutes. The route is manageable by wheelchair users and can be enjoyed by the whole family.Meet in front of King's House, King Street (behind the Thomas Paine statue) at 6:15pm for a 6:30pm start, and we set off when everyone is present, and at 6:30pm at the absolute latest. Please Note that people participating in the Ghost Walk do so at their own risk and no liability is accepted. There are no toilet facilities on the Walk route. It is recommended that participants wear stout shoes or boots. When I'm asked "are you afraid of the dark", my answer is "No, I'm afraid of what is IN the dark"
