Making Artist Books with Alayne Smith

This playful and exploratory one day workshop will look at structures and techniques for making creative artist books.

We will look at examples of artist books and then try out some of the techniques.

We will work experimentally using collage and mark making and folding and fastening techniques to construct our own books.

At the end of the day you will have made some sample artist books and hopefully have a host of creative ideas to take away and continue working on.

You can use materials provided or bring some of your own materials in to incorporate into the books e.g. writing, photographs, artwork and scraps of different materials.
