In Conversation: Val McDermid and Denise Mina

Join two of the biggest names in Scottish crime fiction for an extra special final event to wrap up Bloody Scotland 2026. Between them, they have published more than 60 novels, been translated into more than 40 languages and have sales in the multi-millions. Val’s latest novel (co-written with Jo Sharp) is This Door of the Seas. Part of the acclaimed Darkland Tales series, it is an epistolary historical novel about the late 17th-century Darien Venture – Scotland’s ill-fated attempt to establish a trading colony in the jungles of Central America. Denise’s latest novel is The Good Liar, a standalone thriller in which blood spatter expert Claudia O’Shiel finds herself with a critical choice to make that might put her life on the line.
