The Wight Bear presents...
Back To The Bear... the personal collectionsBack To The Bear returns to The Bear this Autumn & Winter with 3 events spanning across the remaining months of the year.
A concept based on the Back to Mine compilation series, where DJs play a set of their own personal collection of vinyl they listen to when winding down after their sets at clubs. We've asked the DJs to dig in deep to their personal collection of vinyl to give the audience an insight to another side of them. They've each carefully curated a set, playing vinyl they'd usually only play at home, on their own, with friends or after shows, rather than those they'd regularly play in their sets out. A chance for you to see these DJ in a different light, and them to play records they'd not normally share to crowdsWe're kicking things of with a local legend and a DJ who seems to be here there and everywhere at the moment, playing some incredible shows, across the UK and Europe we're really excited to see what he's going to bring to the decks...Chris WheatleyChris has spent 30 years immersed in the world of DJing and record collecting, he's the curator of London based Close to the Source, and co-curator of Night Dancer in Paris. His DJ journey has taken him across the UK, and Europe, playing at venues/events such as The Cause, Brilliant Corners, Up on The Roof, Cafe 1001, and Brixton Disco Festival in London, Kasheme in Zurich, Frequence Sacr, and Djoon in Paris, Paak Vinyl in Nijmegen, Red Light Radio in Amsterdam and E Soul Cultura in Manchester. He's shared the stage with esteemed artists such as Roy Ayers, Dave Lee, Kenny Dope, Greg Wilson, Horse Meat Disco, Nightmares on Wax, Luke Una, Dimitri from Paris, and more.
