The prestigious Band of the Royal Anglian Regiment brings its uplifting and powerful sound to the Cecil Hepworth Playhouse. Expect orchestral favourites, as well as music from screen and stage. Special guests (TBA) will deliver vocals!Whilst the concert is free - we hope you will make a donation to preserve the ancient art of dramatic cymbal timing, highly polished buttons and rousing chorus! Seats MUST be reserved through the booking system.The Band of the Royal Anglian Regiment is a prestigious Army Reserve band that supports the three Battalions of the Royal Anglian Regiment.
Based in Peterborough in the East of England, it carries forward the musical traditions of former county regiments, performing at high-profile ceremonial duties, memorial services, and hugely popular public concerts.
The Band serves in the Army Reserve, providing musical support for the Regular and Reserve battalions of the Royal Anglian Regiment, which was formed in 1964.In addition to public performances, the Band supports regional, national, and international regimental engagements, including hosting charity concerts and performing at the Royal Anglian Memorial at IWM Duxford. The Band represents the combined history of regiments from Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, and Rutland.
