Fresh from winning BBC Scotland Young Jazz Musician of the Year, drummer and composer Roan Anderson brings his band TAO to CatStrand.
Blending jazz, groove, electronic and ambient music, TAO create immersive, high-energy performances that move between heavy riffs, spacious textures and improvised moments. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Petter Eldh, Immanuel Wilkins, Kali Malone, Ellen Arkbro and corto.alto, the band have developed a sound that's uniquely their own.
Currently releasing a run of new music throughout summer 2026, TAO will perform material from their latest releases alongside brand new, unreleased compositions. Their newest single, Emotionally Unintelligent, is out now on all streaming platforms.
Expect an evening of bold, contemporary music that pushes beyond traditional ideas of jazz.
