Rebellion is nigh in Matilda JR., a gleefully witty ode to the anarchy of childhood and the power of imagination. This uplifting story follows a remarkable young girl who dreams of a better life and inspires the children around her. Audiences will be cheering for the “revolting children” as they set out to teach the grown-ups a lesson.
Matilda possesses astonishing wit, intelligence, and very special powers. Though neglected by her cruel parents, she finds encouragement in her kind and much-loved teacher, Miss Honey. However, school life is far from easy under the rule of the fearsome headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, who despises children and delights in inventing ever more outrageous punishments.
