About

Some poetry is based on everyday life; some poetry draws on imaginative thinking that goes beyond reality.

Some poetry is based on everyday life; some poetry draws on imaginative thinking that goes beyond reality.

In this session, Paul Farley, Karen McCarthy Woolf and Khadjiah Ibrahiim share poetry which subtly stretches our understanding of the rational and the real.

From Farley's time-bending moments in When it Rained for a Million Years, through McCarthy Woolf's wandering through the afterlives of colonialism in Unsafe, and Ibrahiim's Afrofuturistic piece 'How to Build a Spaceship', meet three poets who find the epic in the everyday and the magical in the mundane.Potential for strong language or serious themes discussedPresented by the BBC and the National Poetry CentreStart time: 6pmRun time: 1 hourIf you wish to book a wheelchair space, or have any access-related requests, please contact our box office team on 0161 876 2015 to discuss your requirements and make your booking. Please note, a ticket booking confirmation does not guarantee your entry to this event.
