Join us for the latest in our series of Teller's Special nights, where we give the first half to a handful of our regular story tellers, then concentrate on one performer for the second half.
This time we feature Lynette Hill and her story of Horse.
Creatures of wind and storm, so we are told, horses were first created by the gods to carry messages between Heaven and Earth. Or are they descended from dragons and intended as sacred gifts to help people carry their burdens Lynette Hill tells the stories of how horses became humanity's companions and what happened next ...
Lynette Hill is a Milton Keynes-based writer and performance storyteller who served as 2023 Bard of Stony Stratford. She has been telling tales comic, spooky and historic at festivals, schools, care homes and multi-faith events in Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire and beyond since 2015.
She founded and hosts Bletchley's monthly storytelling show for grownups, Tales Tattled & Told and is the author of the fantasy novel series The Glass Singers. A former newspaper reporter, she has written for The Washington Post, the Public Medical News and other print and online media outlets.
You can also catch her at 2 pm on most Tuesdays telling Tall Tales at the Hospital on Milton Keynes Hospital radio. As always, we have the lovely surroundings of Northampton's Quaker Meeting House, we offer the warm welcome atmosphere of the Feast of Fools, and we offer a veritable Feast of far from foolish cakes! Not forgetting the better-than-the-average-raffle raffle. Tickets are available on WeGotTickets.com and you will be very happy to know that parking next to the venue is once again available! (Just remember it is pay and display)
