In 2020, whilst the world is grounded, Bird arrives in the life of writer,Candida Meyrick, living with her young family on Anglesey.Be More Bird charts the deepening relationship between Bird and woman, set in one of the wildest landscapes. In poetic prose, this book illuminates the ancient, worldwide art of falconry and its urgent relevance for the modern mind: the importance of finding our courage and compassion, and re-establishing a connection with the wilder world.Join us as we discuss Bird's 'life lessons', the wildness hidden within ourselves, and to think profoundly about our connections with nature and our lives.Be More Bird is Candida's first non-fiction title, but as Candida Clark she has written six novels, The Last Look , The Constant Eye , The Mariner's Star , Ghost Music , A House of Light and The Chase consequently being voted as one of the Observers Top Twenty Writers of the Decade, and as one of the Best of British writers in the New Statesman. Candida has also written film scripts, published poetry and short fiction, which has appeared in anthologies and as dramatisations on BBC Radio 4. She has been a regular book reviewer for the Telegraph, Observer, Guardian and Financial Times and has also written journalism for numerous publications, including Elle, Vogue, the Evening Standard and the political network, openDemocracy.net.
