Join Bruce as he talks about his experience of acting on stage, film, radio and television. He will share thoughts about being an actor and acting. He will include practical demonstrations and maybe invite audience volunteers to help. This is going to be a very special evening, whether you are a budding actor, an experienced actor, or simply enjoy watching good acting on stage, in film and on TV.
Bruce has acted professionally for over fifty years. His first love is Shakespeare and hes been in over twenty of his plays, many with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Hes also been in many new and established plays at the Royal National Theatre, the Royal Court, the Almeida, Birmingham Rep, Chichester and in such places as Edinburgh, Los Angeles, Moscow, Tblisi, Hong Kong, and the Players Theatre, Nelson Street, Thame. On television, Bruce is best known as Superintendent Mullett in A Touch of Frost and has also featured in episodes of numerous TV series, including Gentleman Jack, Heartbeat, EastEnders, Midsomer Murders, Doc Martin and Grantchester. He is an Associate Director of Actors from the London Stage, taking barebones Shakespeare to US campuses. He was a founding member of the Actors Centre and teaches courses, as well as taking auditions, at RADA. His book Named by Shakespeare will be out shortly. Bruce has been a patron of Thame Players for 30 years and is honoured to be a Life Member.
