As a member of The Magic Circle, I wanted to transform a night of live entertainment into a powerful vehicle for community support. Every single penny raised from ticket sales and donations will be sent directly to the local community in Kumamoto, ensuring that funds are deployed where they are needed most during their long road to recovery.
A Cause Close to My HeartFor me, this cause is profoundly personal. When the major earthquake struck Kumamoto, my 90-year-old mother-in-law miraculously escaped total disaster because she happened to be in the kitchen when her home was flattened. Had the tremor occurred during the night, the outcome would have been tragic.
Today, she resides in a community centre alongside roughly 200 others, sleeping on a communal floor after losing everything. Similarly, my sister-in-law survived with severe structural damage to her home, forcing her and hundreds of neighbours to sleep in cars parked in open fields out of fear of aftershocks. Months after the initial disaster, many families continue to live without reliable electricity or running water. By joining us for this show, you are directly contributing to the rebuilding of these shattered lives.
