Who were these ancient pagans and what were they practising in Monmouthshire?Ronald Huttonis an engaging and acclaimed broadcaster, author and academic.

He has written twenty books, ninety-six essays and sits on the editorial boards of six journals concerned with the history of religion and magic.

As Professor of History at Bristol University he has won several awards for teaching and research.Ronald is currently working on the third volume of his biography of Oliver Cromwell.

The first title Oliver Cromwell: The Making of was a Sunday Times Book of The Year.

The second volume Commander in Chief is now available.This is an in-person event at Tintern Village Hall.

There is disabled access, loos and limited free parking at the venue.

Parking along the village Main Rd (A466) is permitted and unrestricted after 6pm.

The next closest car-park is at Tintern Abbey after which you can cut through the playing fields or walk along the river footpath to quickly reach the Village Hall.This talk is run by volunteers and all proceeds go to the St Mary's Conservation Fund, a picturesque Grade II listed ruin on the ancient site of Chapel Hill, Tintern which is currently closed to the public for safety reasons.

The Lower Wye Valley Building Preservation Trust's intention is to consolidate this sacred space and reopen it to the public.
