Talk: Burslem Port : bringing boats back to Burslem and new life to Middleport with David Broome

Find out more about the history ot Burslem Port and the exciting plans to bring it new life. The Burslem Port Trust seeks to reopen the Burslem Branch Canal, creating new waterside facilities to deliver sustainable leisure, tourism and thus employmen through a major regeneration project which will extend from the Trent and Mersey Canal to the former Shropshire Union warehouse in lower Burslem.
The completed project will deliver the partially re-opened canal, a mooring basin in a newly constructed pool alongside the wharf of the renovated historic warehouse, in which there will be retail, crafts, cafe and community arts facilities, and outdoor/sporting activities along the canal side.
