Patterns in the Garden: Natural Forms and the Artist Book - Summer School

This 5 day summer school will look at ways to develop a series of books that focus on the gardens surrounding the Moray Art Centre!We will look closely at the patterns, shapes, colours, and textures that are found in the flower beds and the edges of paths and use these as the starting point to develop content through drawing, lo-fi printmaking, collage and text.Different book structures will be introduced and participants will explore how to combine visual imagery with structure.

By the end of the week, each participant will have a produced a series of books contained in either a slipcase or wraparound box.The work of Sonia Delauney, Hilma af Klint, Karen Kunc, and Jane Hyslop will be looked at as part of the week.Materials and refreshments provided but please bring along a packed lunch!
