Solent Sky Tram and Model Railway Event

This will be our sixth year running this event and again will of course feature our three full sized trams, Southampton domed roof car 11, Southampton open top car 38 and Lisbon 715, as well as at least a dozen model tramway and railway layouts ranging from N gauge to ¾ inch scale.

A highlight will be Southampton 11 which, now that it is on its truck, we hope to be able to move it out of the shed for the event, the first time a tram has moved on track in Southampton for over 75 years.

There will also be a number of trade stands.There will be some returning model tram and railway exhibits as well as new layouts.A number of local tram related societies will be represented including the tramway and light railway society (TLRS) and the Southampton Tram Project.A number of Southampton heritage societies will have information stands.The museum is the home of the Spitfire and the largest flying boat operation in the world - 20 aircraft are on display from the golden age of aviation as well as the Hampshire Police and Fire Museum.
