Strathcarron Hospice - Meaning of Life Exhibition 2026Strathcarron – a charity and Scotland’s largest independent Hospice – opened on 21 April 1981 in Fankerton, near Denny, serving the Forth Valley, Cumbernauld and Kilsyth areas.Over the years the Hospice has expanded to include a purpose built 24 bedded Inpatient unit and supports and cares for around 1400 patients a year and their loved ones at a cost of £19,452 a day.

Over 80% of the care is carried out beyond the Hospice building within local communities, in people’s homes and wherever they require our support.CELEBRATE 45 - MEANING OF LIFEIn their 45th year they are reflecting on the work of the hospice and the people that make the hospice what it is - staff, volunteers, retail customers, patients and their family members.

They are reflecting on 'The Meaning of Life', a subject which we are faced with daily at the hospice in the work they do.Stirling born photographers - award winning Margaret Mitchell and Charles McGuigan - are creating a work of portraits capturing our hospice community in all its forms as they celebrate 45 years of Hospice care.The exhibition will showcase the work of these photographers, along with video content of interviews with patients, staff and family members, where viewers can stop, reflect and listen in to an episode of their podcast series.
