About Workshop
The INSIDE-OUTSIDE workshop is precursor workshop in the run up to Indepen-dances biennial festival Gathered Together - Scotlands International Inclusive Dance Festival held at Tramway this September 2026.
The aim of the workshop will be on improving improvisation technique and skills and developing site-specific work, particularly in an outdoor environment. Participants will explore themes around using outdoor space, turning nature into movement, the journey of discovery.What to expect
During the training session Susanna will start with simple and fun movement and rhythmic games and warm up exercises based on improvisation technique.Participants will generate and develop their own choreographic material, based on their observations of and experience with the space around them and discover their connection to their surroundings and to each other both in an indoor space and outdoors and express this in movement.About Workshop Lead
Susanna Curtis is a choreographer, dancer and facilitator originally brought up in Glasgow and now living and working in Rotterdam then trained at Rotterdamse Dansacademie.She is Artistic Director of both Curtis & Co. dance affairs and EveryBody (founded 2021), which presents professional inclusive dance, initiates inclusive community projects and advances accessibility in the arts. She has been producing work for these companies in coproduction with Tafelhalle Nuremberg, has worked for many other theatres throughout Germany and tours her own work (inter)nationally.Tickets
Sliding Scale - 20 - 40
To ensure accessibility for those on a lower income, we use a sliding scale ticket price. You can choose what you pay between 20-40 based on your circumstances. We wont ask for proof of why, we just ask that you are honest.Accessibility
