directed by Christian AnthonyA rip-roaring musical comedy, Half a Sixpence follows the life and loves of Arthur Kipps, an over-worked draper's assistant living in Folkstone in the early 1900s. When Arthur unexpectedly inherits a fortune, he is propelled into high society, catching the eye of Helen Walsingham and her money-grabbing family. Arthur's childhood sweetheart, Ann, is forced to watch helplessly as Helen attempts to transform Arthur into the perfect upper-class husband. Both women love Arthur in their own ways, but by the time he makes up his mind which one he wants, will it be too late? With barn-storming numbers such as 'If the Rain's Got to Fall', 'Pick Out a Simple Tune' and 'Flash Bang Wallop', Half a Sixpence remains one of the most beloved British musicals of the twentieth century.
