That was just what the Simpson family thought when they booked a surprise for their father at the Excelsior Hotel in Londons West End little thinking that the day would end in tragedy.Sir Edward Simpson was a businessman with a reputation for being tough, both in his business dealings and with his family.

He didnt suffer fools gladly and no doubt had made many enemies both professional and personal.

However, today he was on good form until, half -way through a cup of Darjeeling, he fell forward onto the table.A doctor quickly attended but Sir Edward had died, and the doctor was not convinced that his death had been a natural one.

The Police were called and an investigation was set in motion.
