Since its launch in 2016, the volunteerled project has been uncovering centuriesold inscriptions across Winchester and the wider county, revealing stories carved into stone that have long gone unnoticed.Project coordinator Karen Wardley will share some of the most intriguing discoveries made so far.
Formerly Collections Manager with Southampton City Councils arts and heritage service and now a trustee of King Johns House and Museum in Romsey, Karen brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for uncovering the countys overlooked heritage.As Karen says, This project has given me the perfect excuse to explore our countys rich heritage and to discover intriguing ancient marks previously hidden in plain sight.Ticket price includes a complimentary soft drink on arrival.
