Sunday Lunch: Helena Debono & Charlie Bates

This promises to be a wonderful afternoon of great music featuring two highly accomplished musicians, vocalist Helena Debono & pianist/arranger Charlie Bates with their quintet.

Charlie has been the recipient of the Dankworth Award, the Eddie Harvey Award and an Ivor Novello award and in-demand singer Helena has performed at Cheltenham Jazz Festival, Manchester Jazz Festival, Buckingham Palace & Wembley Stadium.

Their album “A Thousand Nights” was chosen as Jazz FM’s “Record of the Week” and the show today will include a selection of music from that album plus a mix of original songs and re-imagining of jazz classics.
