In 1970, I was in my final year studying graphic design at the Royal College of Art when the Rolling Stones office rang the college and requested that a design student meet with Mick Jagger to discuss the poster design for their upcoming European Tour.
I was the very lucky bloke to be chosen to go along to the meeting.
During the next four years I designed all of their four tour posters and during that time, the logo for their own record label.
After a spell as a freelance designer, I became art director at United Artist Records and then creative director at Chrysalis Records.
My final job was creative director at The South Bank Centre.A rare chance to hear John Pasche the designer of the legendary Rolling Stones lips logo discuss his fascinating career.Supported by Gordon Timber
