Designing Deceptions - Matt Pritchard

Optical illusions and Perspective.

Magician and science communicator Dr Matt Pritchard takes audiences inside the art and engineering of deception.

Through astonishing demonstrations and behind-the-scenes insights, he reveals how illusions exploit perspective, psychology and the quirks of human perception.

Matt is a two-times winner of the best Illusion of the year contest and will share his experience of designing illusions in this talk.

From ingenious cardboard constructions to the spectacular visual tricks used in Disney theme parks, Matt shows how scientists, mathematicians and magicians manipulate what we think we see.

A playful, eye-opening journey into the standpoints that shape our vision - and how easily they can be bent.
