Sing with Ex Cathedra: Cherubini Requiem

Join us for a day (registration 09.30, singing from 10am-4pm) of singing, study, and musical friendship alongside James Burton and members of Ex Cathedra. We welcome singers of all ages and levels of experience.Cherubinis Requiem was admired by Beethoven and performed at his memorial in 1827. Sitting at the heart of the early Romantic tradition, the music alternates between hushed, prayer-like passages and more dramatic choral writing, not least in the Dies irae. Come and explore this unjustly neglected masterpiece with us.Your ticket includes music and sound files provided in advance, and coffee and cake on the day.
