Directed by Pamela May, The Greek Theatre Players are pleased to bring The Merry Wives of Windsor to Copped Hall.
Thought to be, by some, written at the behest of Queen Elizabeth I, The Merry Wives of Windsor sees the return of possibly one of Shakespeare's most endearing and well-loved characters, Falstaff. However, as ususal he is up to no good! Add to this the wooing of Anne Page by several suitors and you probably have one of the first ever 'Rom-Coms'!Refreshments, including tea, coffee and homemade cakes will be available. The Copped Hall shop will be open as well as our second-hand bookshop.Early booking is recommended for this popular event. The play takes place in the Gardens, probably on the West Front but possibly on the Lower Terraces and Great Lawn areas. TheGardens are undulating/uneven lawn surfaces with some paths on a sloping surface in some parts. Wheelchair users who may be interest in attending should contact the Box Office to assess the suitability of this event. No dogs other than Registered Assistance dogs will be allowed at this year's performance.
