Join us for a fascinating evening with advocate Claire Mitchell KC and writer Zoe Venditozzi, the founders of the Witches of Scotland, as they take you through the history of the witch hunts that ripped through the country from the 16th to the 18th century.
Witches of Scotland is a campaign dedicated to seeking justice for the nearly 4,000 individuals, predominantly women, who were accused of witchcraft in Scotland between 1563 and 1736. Since 2020 they have managed to secure a formal apology from the Scottish government acknowledging the historic injustice suffered by those accused of witchcraft and continue to work towards securing a legal pardon for those convicted and establishing a national memorial to honour the victims.
They will be joining us on Thursday 21st May at 7pm at Duloch library to discuss the history surrounding this fascinating period and their efforts at finding justice for all those involved.
Audience 16 plus, doors opening 6.45pm for 7pm start.
