This show was devised by lifelong fans of Smokie. The seasoned stage performers behind it are Rik Gaynor and Chris Raynor, and Smokie & the Bandits is the ultimate tribute show celebrating 1970s and 80s soft-rock royalty.
Rik Gaynor captures the distinctive, gravelly vocals of both Chris Norman and the late, great Alan Barton, bringing the band's golden era back to life with timeless anthems like "Living Next Door to Alice," "Oh Carol," and "Lay Back in the Arms of Someone." Alongside him is Chris Raynor, whose exceptional guitar work and soaring harmonies help recreate that unmistakable Smokie sound. Together, Rik and Chris bring decades of experience as performers, producers, and songwriters to the stage.
The line-up is anchored by bassist Kevin Davenport, a musician with a wealth of experience who has played with some of the biggest stars in the business. He expertly locks in with Chris's instrumentation and provides the effortless, gorgeous close harmonies essential to the Smokie vocal blend. Completing the powerhouse rhythm section is drummer Paul Brown. Affectionately nicknamed "Animal," Paul delivers a high-octane, visually striking performance that draws audiences in every single night.
Opening the evening is the phenomenal Den Rox as Suzi Quatro. A true powerhouse performer, Den belts out glam-rock anthems like "Devil Gate Drive," "If You Can't Give Me Love," and "Can the Can" with the exact same fierce energy that defined the queen of 70s rock.
