The songs of Walter Becker and Donald Fagen, aka Steely Dan, stood alone in 1970s rock; cryptic pungent lyrics and sophisticated, detailed music, deeply influence by the best jazz players of the 1950's and 60's. Steely Jazz re-examines the Steely Dan canon. Featuring tracks from the quintet's album 'Walter/Donald', this funky, poignant and edifying set juxtaposes will-known pieces alongside classic tracks from the masterpice albums, Aja, Countdown to Ecstasy, Katy Lied, Aja, Gaucho et al. This will be a fresh and exciting celebration of two giants of 20th Century popular music.
