Everyday Magic: a Guided Walk in Felixstowe National Poetry Day 2026

Come and celebrate National Poetry Day with a family-friendly poetry walk, in search of the 'magic of the street',ormore simply put,the beauty in the everyday. Usingpoems as reflection points along the route, this gentle walk invites you into mindfulness and nature connection.This activity will begin at 12:00 at Felixstowe Library. There will be an hour of gentle walking near to the town and along the seafront, with occasional stops for a poem along the way, and wrapped up with an optional 30-minute reflection over a hot drink back at the library.Suitable for all ages. Everyone is welcome - including babies, toddlers, older children and their grown-ups. Prams, baby carriers, snacks, wiggles and the occasional toddler interruption are all part of the experience!Attendance is free but booking in advance is encouraged. One ticket covers one or two adults, as well as their children. So, you do not need to book multiple tickets per person in your family.The walk will go ahead whatever the weather, so dress comfortably on the day.This activity is brought to you as part of our Wild Reads and Festival of Nature 2026 programme.About Aruna Stannard:
Aruna is an East Anglian poet. Her poetry is mostly rooted in the landscapes and experiences of everyday life: living, working and raising a family in Suffolk. In 2025, her poems won the Welshpool Poetry Festival competition and were shortlisted by The Bridport Prize.She was a writer-in-residence with the Wild Pages residency hosted by Suffolk Community Libraries, Suffolk Wildlife Trust and National Centre for Writing.
