Ari Hoenig Trio

The New York-based drummer is a distinctive figure in contemporary jazz, known for a melodic approach where he tunes his drum skins to specific pitches to play themes and harmonies alongside his rhythm work.

This technique allows him to lead the ensemble from the back of the stage - transforming the drum kit into a versatile lead instrument.

His career has been defined by this exploration of polyrhythms and complex time signatures, making him a central presence in the modern jazz scene for over twenty years.Presented by Howard Assembly Room. This is a 14+ event
