Tango Night with EL CHAMUYO / Live Event

The EL CHAMUYO TANGO QUARTET is a London-based ensemble performing a wide range of Argentinian Tango music, ranging from golden era of the 1920s and '30s, through to the tango nuevo masterpieces of Piazzolla as well as originals. While respecting the tradition of Tango, El Chamuyo also takes this repertoire as a starting point for improvisation, blurring the boundaries between tango and jazz in exciting and innovative ways.Not forgetting that this music is rooted in dance, the quartet regularly performs at milongas for tango dancers as well as jazz clubs and concert venues. Most recent performances include POSK Jazz Cafe, Crazy Coqs, Guildford Jazz Festival, Jamboree and Toulouse Lautrec London. The quartet was also an official tango orchestra for the Welsh Tango Nuevo Festival.Musicians:
