Sophie Michelle Ellis-Bextor is an English singer, songwriter, and model. She initially gained prominence as the lead singer of the indie rock band Theaudience in the late 1990s. After the band's dissolution, she embarked on a successful solo career, blending mainstream pop with influences from disco, nu-disco, and 1980s electronic music.
