Mànran and Dougie MacLeanMànran have been at the forefront of the Scottish traditional music scene for over 15 years, earning a reputation as one of the genre’s most exciting and influential bands. Renowned for their bold fusion of traditional and contemporary sounds, the seven-piece seamlessly blend Gaelic and English song with driving, intricately arranged instrumentals. Their signature line-up, featuring bagpipes, fiddle, accordion, whistle and flute, underpinned by guitars, bass and drums, creates a powerful, uplifting sound that is deeply rooted in tradition yet unmistakably modern. It’s a combination that has taken them to stages in more than 30 countries worldwide, building a loyal international following and a strong reputation for high-energy, electrifying live performances. The band celebrated their 15th anniversary in 2025, alongside the release of their latest studio album, To the Wind. Three singles from the record were play-listed on BBC Radio 2 and it earned a nomination for Album of the Year at the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards. They will be joined on the night by special guest Dougie MacLean. Scotland’s pre-eminent singer-songwriter, internationally renowned for his song Caledonia, his music for Last of the Mohicans, and inspired performances. Having achieved his 50th year as a professional musician in 2024, Dougie’s popularity continues to grow, and with his online weekly broadcasts that began in March 2020 from his Old Schoolhouse (renamed Global Streaming Theatre), having reached more than four million viewers in 80 different countries.
