Described during her time as one of the 'grand dames' of Impressionism, Marie Bracquemond was one of only three women who participated in the original Impressionist exhibitions in late 19th-century Paris.
Having also exhibited at the prestigious Paris Salon, her promising career was cut short due to her husband's disapproval.Join Kate O’Donoghue, Curator of International Fine Art, to learn more about this landmark acquisition and the life and work of Marie Bracquemond, as well as the wider French Impressionist movement, in this curator-led talk.
