The Brooklyn DodgeJames was born here on the Island and enjoys a wide-ranging career as pianist, organist and chamber musician, and has performed at Wigmore Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Barbican, St David's Hall, Snape Maltings, Queens Hall Edinburgh, London Palladium, Cologne Schauspiel, Oslo Opera House, Weimar Hochschule fr Musik, Milan Fondazione Cariplo; at the Anghiari, Avignon, Latitude, Tel Aviv and Venice Biennale festivals, the BBC Proms, and on many an ocean as a featured classical artist for Cunard Line and Saga Cruises.In 2012 he founded the Galos Piano Trio [http://galos-trio.com], whose recent recording of works by Clara Schumann and her contemporaries Agnes Zimmermann and Louise Lebeau was generously supported by the Ambache Trust, and is available on all streaming platforms.As a rptiteur he works with Royal Opera House, Royal Ballet, English National Opera, BBC Singers, BBC Symphony Chorus, Opera North, English Touring Opera, Aldeburgh Festival, Kokoro, Synergy Vocals, Polyphony, Gabrieli Consort, Grange Festival, Royal Marines School of Music, London Concert Choir, Birmingham Opera Company, Garsington Opera, Bampton Classical Opera, Bregenzer Festspiele and Festival dAix-en-Provence. Closer to home, he is a passionate educator and works with many local community choirs, festivals and education projects both on the Island and over the water.James won the Tagore Gold Medal during his studies at the Royal College of Music, and held scholarships and artist residencies at the Britten-Pears School, St.Martin-in-the-Fields and Banff Centre for the Arts.
