Introduction to Screen Printing with Sarah Keast

This two day introduction will take you step by step through screen-printing on paper. We will cover:Techniques for making screen stencils using Paper, photo emulsion and UV light.
Use of photographic images and autographic (hand drawn) images in screenprinting
Printing techniques to get high quality images
Ink mixing and colour mixing
Choosing the right paper for screen-printing
Printing in multiple colours with good registration of layers
Using a screen printing bench press
Cleaning up and care for screens and equipment
By the end of the course students will have a small edition of prints in 2-3 colours.

Sarah is a mixed media artist but much of her work is expressed and developed using printmaking techniques especially screenprint and collograph
